In the coming weeks further tests will be conducted as directed by the Independent Expert Advisory Panel set up by the department. Results from all of the tests will be posted on www.gov.uk/guidance/building-safety-programme.

Building Safety Programme Newsletter - Issue 03 / 4 August 2017

We are writing to you as an organisation which we consider would be interested in keeping up to date on the Department for Communities and Local Government’s (DCLG) work on building safety following the fire at Grenfell Tower. We hope you found the newsletter and links to the webpage beneficial to your organisation.

The newsletter contains news and updated advice for landlords. DCLG has established the Building Safety Programme to identify the buildings which are of concern through a checking and testing process, and develop advice and solutions for landlords and building owners.

In this week’s newsletter:

The second large-scale test of wall cladding systems has been undertaken by the Building Research Establishment. Based on advice from The Expert Panel, where building owners have the same or similar materials on their building as those detailed in the second test, they should read the advice contained in Advice Note 5 'Advice for Building Owners: large-scale wall system test'.
